Package ES_EN.argostranslate doesn't work

Hello, I’m currently working with the argostranlate version 1.10.0 an the language package for es_en spanish to english returns a message saying “mainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstremainstre”

This only happens with this language package. Have you ever seen something like this?

Greetings: I just discovered/installed ArgosTranslate yesterday. Very cool!

EN=>ES works fine for me, however I get similar results as Jose (mainstremainstr…) when going the other direction with a full sentence:

Aquí tenemos una frase más larga, espero que la traducción funcione bien.

Un saludo

I was getting this same behavior, I downloaded the model from the ArgosTranslate Google Drive manually and that one worked. It’s different from the ones downloaded automatically for some reason.

Can’t post links, but the Google Drive link is under Packages in the ArgosTranslate readme on Github

The current Spanish->English model was ported from Opus-MT here:

The old Spanish model I trained with OpenNMT-tf is probably still available on the Google Drive.

Hi, with the models from Google Drive, EN>ES appears to work. ES>EN still spits out garbage. I would like to find a solution to this since Spanish is a top 10 popular language. Thanks. AC

Thanks, translating now. Cheers

Can you guys post specific translations you’re having an issue with? So the consensus is that the Google Drive model is overall better than the released es->en model? I tested the currently released production model a bit this morning and it seems okay (I speak beginner Spanish). It even translates “Ensalada” correctly as “Salad”.

Here’s some text I translated with the currently released Argos Translate es->en:
